First International Conference On "MANAGEMENT OF TECHNOLOGIES & INFORMATION SECURITY"

The International Conference on Information Security and Management (ICMIS2010) was an initiative for next generation enterprises to judge the "trends & practices in effective management & information security". The aim of the Conference was to create an environment where the latest trends practices and development in the area of Information Security and Management are deliberated upon. It analyzes the growing need for organizations to give emphasis to technology in their work processes and work culture. It had not only provided an opportunity to comprehend and share insights about the futuristic organizations but also aided in creating models for efficient knowledge dissemination through technology.

 With technology becoming imperative for business excellence; business leaders and academicians are looking at the strategic implications of harnessing technology for profitability and risk mitigation. To be poised on the path of efficiency and productivity, the growing realization is towards adopting and incorporating models facilitate transformation of traditional organizations to networked organizations. The breakthrough advances in the domain of information technology and security are being capitalized for building knowledge regimes and organizational competencies.

Thus, IIIT-A is an institution which has an edge over other institutions as it has initiated the provoking issues in the conference and thus has bathed in the pool of technology and management to assuage the thirst for knowledge.

We have provided on spot registrations regarding Submission of papers. The ceremony begins with the Inaugural session where Honble Justice Rajesh Tondon were the chief guest who is the chairman cyber Appelate Tribunal, GOI.

After a short tea break Dr. Pekka Kess engaged the audience by having a discussion on Virtual universities - A challenge to the university management.

After that Ajay Singh, Dr. Shashi Singh, Dr. Kiran Singh presented on the topic Higher education and Knowledge transfer: Key to Entrepreneurial Development.

A discussion on Social and Behavioral approaches to information assurance – caselets on decision making and information systems by Dr. H. R. Rao was held after a lunch break.

After that Alok Singh, Sunil Kumar Yadav presented on “A Strategic Perspective of Business continuity planning” and after that audience were engaged by Pavan Kumar Pandey, G. P. Biswas who presented on “Design of scalable routing protocol for wireless ad hoc networks based on DSDV.

After the Tea Break Anand Kumar and Saket Jain discussed on “Study of Employee motivation in functional level Employees in Indian organization” and on “Scalable and Role based access control in distributed P2P Network environment with secure architecture 289-299” respectively.

After the hectic schedule of the day, it ended with the Dinner.

 

Ø  22nd Jan.’10

The day started with the invited talk by Prof. Alexey Salnikov.

Prof. Balakrishnan from IISc. Bangalore had shared his immense knowledge with the audience by heading an awesome presentation.

The first half of the day was engaged by several group of speakers viz., Vijay Borges, Chinmay Sardesai, Sanil Borkar, Ankeeta Kamat, Poorva Kamat were the first; Supriya Kamthania and Rashid Ali after them and Bharat Gupta, Shruti Agarwal, Shruti Maheshwari at last on the topics Dynamic approach in implementing nash’s equilibrium for routing in MANETS, A comparative study of Different Artificial Neural Networks based Intrusion Detection Systems  and  A Novel Approach of Ensuring Privacy in Existing Health Information Systems respectively.

A Keynote Speaker in the second half was Prof. Samo Bobek from University of Maribor.

The discussions after that were engaged on the topic ESRML 2.0: A Markup Language for Expressing Requirements for Information Security Governance, Enhancing QoS by combining MAC and routing algorithms with Selective Retransmission in MANETS, Short Term Load Forecasting Using Artificial Neural NetworkWiki Based Metadata Repository for Small/Medium Scale Enterprises and on an Architecture for Analyzing Network Activities for Botnet Detection where the group of speakers were   Anirban Sengupta, Chandan Mazumdar;  J Premalatha, P Balasubramanie;   Pradeepta Kumar Sarangi, Nanhay Singh, Dr. R. K. Chauhan, Dr. Raghuraj Singh; Akshay K Singh, Shree P Shukla, Anirudh Singh, Madhvendra Misra and  Anurag Srivastava and Sangeeta Mittal.

The Ceremony of the day ended with the Banquet Dinner. 

Ø  23rd Jan.’10

The day commenced with the insightful talk by Prof. Shariya Pov Rinat and Prof. K Mukherjee from ISMU, Dhanbad.

The Invited Speaker for the second half; Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal from MDI, Gurgaon along with Ms. Irina Minaev enlightened us with their talk.

During the pre lunch session 4 papers were presented on:

ü  Enhancing the Efficiency of IDS System with Honey pot Placement in Network Architecture by Vijay Chaurasiya, Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Suchi Chandra, Shashank Srivastava, Sandeep Saxena, Manish Rai.

ü  Achieving Supply Chain Excellence through e-procurement: A case study approach of Infrastructure Industry by Rameshwar Dubey, Neha Grover, Sadia Samar Ali.

ü  TPS is Lean by Rameshwar Dubey, Saurabh Tiwari, Neha Grover.

ü  Enterpreneurship & Knowledge Transfer by Pawan Kumar Tripathi, Arindam Chatterjee.

In the post lunch session 4 more papers were presented on:

ü  User Specified Item Mining for Association Rules by Pramod S.,O.P.Vyas.

ü  Information Security Using Biometrics : A Case of Financial Services by Shobhit, Pankaj Roy Gupta.

ü  E-Banking in India : Emerging Threats, Issues and Challenges by Virender Kumar  and Sunil Kumar Sharma.

ü  Knowledge Management Approach for Predictive Analysis in marketing DSS using Temporal Data mining Techniques by Sunita Soni & Ranjana Vyas.

The day ended with the dinner preceded by the cultural program presented by the IIIT-A students.

Ø  24thJan.’10

An enlightening talk by Prof. Luv Kuzmin on the topic - "Ultra wideband Signals and Sensor Networks" and a talk by Prof. Vladimar Minaeva made a wonderful start of the day.

Three papers were selected to be presented on the last day, viz.;

ü  Consistency Based Channel Allocation Using Generic Algorithm in Mobile by Suyash Garg , Vikas Goyal & A P Shukla.

ü  An Examination into Computer Forensic Tools by Lokendra Kumar Tiwari,   Arun Kumar Singh, C.K Dwivedi.

ü  Proposing metrics to measure the reverse engineering effort of the source codes obfuscated by data hiding functions and choosing the best obfuscated code by Praveen Sivadasan, P Sojan Lal.
