FOUNDATION DAY.
| The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad celebrated its Ninth Birthday- The Foundation Day on 12th of August 2007. The Chief guest of the programme was the Director of The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Professor S.G. Dhande. The celebrations started in the morning by the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest followed by Saraswati Vandana and rounds of speeches by various dignitaries and the chief guest. Scholarships were also awarded to the meritorious students of the recently completed academic year
| The afternoon session was the best part a student can desire from any institute. There was a seminar on Information Technology: Vision: 2020. There was a series of lectures by various professors and experts from various domains, some prominent ones being: Professor S.K. Kak, IT BHU, Dr. M. Moni, DDG,NIC, New Delhi and people from Honeywell group

That’s not all. The evening witnessed a cultural programme at Banshi Bhavan. Given below is the list of events and the prize winners

Freshers’ MBA’07 Batch
The Fresher Party of the MBA 1st semester was held on the 2nd of September at Hotel Kanha Shyam, the best hotel in the town. The seniors gave a warm welcome to all their juniors. It was a unforgettable moment for everyone present at the occasion
Teachers’ Day Celebrations
The Teachers’ Day was celebrated in all the departments of IIIT A and the MBA/MS-CLIS division was no different. The division celebrated the event in a grand way which even the faculty wasn’t expecting. The students as well as the teachers showed their talents in various fields except the academics. Various games were organized by the students to show how much they love and respect their teachers. The teachers remembered their teachers and embraced their students with love.
Basket Ball Tournament
A basket ball tournament was organized by the sports club- Spirit. The final was played between B2k5 and B2k7. The B2k5 batch emerged as the heroes in the court defeating the opponents by : 27-15. Man of the match was awarded to Prateek Ameta
Hindi Pakhwara
Like every year the Hindi Pakhwara was organized in IIIT A this year as well from the 16th to the 28th of September. Various events and competitions were organized to promote our national language. Various talks were given by prominent personalities in the programme
Mid Semester Examinations
“All study and no play, makes Jack a dull boy” and so does all play and no study.
The mid of the semester examinations of the institute were held from the 21st to the 29th of September and every Jack and Jill was found revising the things taught to them in the first half of the semester
