Spirit of Freedom - Marathon '06

Spirit organized Marathon '06 - Spirit of Freedom on 15th Aug '06. The response was great with around 200 participants taking part in this event. This is for the first time in the history of IIITA that a Marathon has been organized. Honorable director Dr. M.D. Tiwari inaugurated it after the flag hosting ceremony of Independence Day. The event was acclaimed to be a grand success by the students and faculty members.

Budding Managers Return After Their Two Month Summer Internships

IIIT-A MBA students are back after an arduous 2 month stint with a rich repertoire of companies from the IT, Industrial, Banks, Financial Institutions, Insurance, FMCG and Consultancy Sectors. Notable among these include Microsoft, LnT Infotech, Newgen, Indian Oil Corporation, Karvy Consultants and many more. One of the most valuable benefits for the students during the two months was to see first hand how the theories and principles learned in the classroom translate in to reality in the business world. This wonderful learning experience has left the students ready and enthusiastic to 'hit the ground running' for their prospective employer with a thirst for action and a hunger to make their mark in the corporate world.

Freshers Join the IIITA Family

Excitement, anxiety and dreams - these sums up the feelings that were associated with this bunch of IIIT-A freshers. They are the new kids on the block, just beginning to get a taste of the curriculum at the IIIT-A. They are about to have a rendezvous with life here and be a part of the fraternity, which can make India proud. And they like what they see, even if it's nothing like what they have experienced before.
Class of 2008 is a highly cohesive unit with a rich blend of students from diverse backgrounds and parts of the country. Of the 60 freshers a lot of them possess work experience also.While all their life, they have always learnt in the classroom and done exercises as homework, here it is the reverse. IIIT-A is all about learning things by trying them out.

Convocation

It was one of those events for which all the students wait with bated breaths, when the certificate of their toil is awarded to them and their untiring efforts are recognized by one and all, the day when they make their parents, mentors and friends proud. It was the day when the Third Convocation was held on Saturday, the 12th of August 2006 in the sprawling campus of IIIT-A.
Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Tripathi,Pro Vost & Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs,State University of New York,Buffalo,was the Chief Guest for the event which was also presided over by Sri F. C. Kohli, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIIT-A and Dr. M. D. Tiwari, who inspired the students with their words of encouragement. From MBA (IT) the medals were to Ms.Nikita Bhargava(Gold),Mr Sachin Kumar Singh(Silver),Ms.Soumita Mukerji(Bronze).
