Indian Institute of Information Technology - Allahabad
Bi-Monthly E-Magazine
November-December 2004
Issue I Volume I

Starting from a vague idea which metamorphosised into a focused team effort to assemble new ideas and come up with results, The B’Cognizance team has strived to establish a platform through which students can address issues related to IT and Management. The inspiration for such an activity lies in the zeal to create a magazine that cements together disjoint efforts of various people into a coherent mass movement giving rise to evolution. We here at IIIT visualize the magazine to meet the requirements of all the Management and Information Technology students of India and Abroad.

Our inaugural effort starts with an article on “Globalization and its challenges before India”, followed by an article on “Employee turn-over in the Indian Industry”, written by our Mr. R.N. Ugra, ex-Senior Vice-President (marketing), Jindal Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.”. The issue further leads us to Not-Profit Organization, Banking on HR and about SAP Net Weaver with many more on way. A separate section Volte Face invites viewpoints from readers about “Foreign Nationals on the Planning Panel” followed by CaseCading, which unfolds into an unstructured problem asking to be solved. On the whole we have a great diverse mix of things to read and ponder on. In due course of time we intend to invite more of the eminent people from the Corporate World to share their views and experiences with us.

B’Cognizance is not about a small group of students who care to exercise their own views and opinions in black and white. Rather, it is a playground of ideas, for all of us present here, all of us with capacities to think and reflect. B’Cognizance is “our voice, our medium, our unifying principle”. Let's drive it the way it deserves to be driven.

We are immensely thankful to all our contributors and everyone involved in bringing this first issue of B’Cognizance before the readers and look forward towards their best wishes and direction in the days to come.

“We are pioneering a new paperless edition of Magazine. After all, who else should be leading the way in saving the earth's precious resources?”

Happy Reading!!
