Hindi Pakhwara
Like every year the Hindi Pakhwara was organized in IIIT A from the 31 stAugust 2008 .Various events and competitions were organized to promote our national language. Various talks were given by prominent personalities in the programme.
Teachers’ Day Celebrations
The Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great fervor in IIIT A and the MBA/MS-CLIS division was no exception. The students showed their love and respect for the faculty by dedicating songs and poems for them. The teachers also rose to the occasion and showed their talents in various fields except the academics.
Anniversary
PRAYAS a deed which started with 29 kids in a small room of KV two years back, stands today educating 105 kids and taking care of mainstream education for 5 kids.Prayas the college’s N.G.O.,celebrated its second anniversary on 8 th September , 2008.
Fresher’s MBA’08 Batch
The juniors were given a warm and hearty welcome by their seniors by throwing a rocking fresher party at Hotel Milan on 14 th September 2008.It was a highly successful event enjoyed by everyone present.
Mid Semester Examinations
The mid-semester exams started from 19th September and ended on 24th September. Everybody was seen immersed in their books trying to remember all that was taught in the class.
Bharat Ratna visits IIIT-Allahabad
His Excellency the Former President of India and Bharat Ratna Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, visit, bless and inspired the IIIT-A fraternity by visiting on 26 th September, 2008. It was an interactive session with the missile man.
Effervescence-2008
The technical cum cultural cum management fest of IIIT-A was held from 1 st October to 5 th October 2008 with great fizz, frolic and festivity. IIIT-A welcomed students from various prestigious institutes all over India. The event concluded on 5 th by a rocking performance given by the popular Pakistani band “Strings” followed by a DJ night sponsored by Nestle where DJ Gaurav (one of the best from Delhi) made all dance on his beats.
Sad Demise
The institute was wrapped in a cloud of grief on the sad and untimely demise of one of its beloved student Mr.Pankaj Pandey (imb2008060) of M.B.A.-1 st Semester. He fell a victim of the disease he was suffering from.
ICUDL Conference
The Fourth International Conference on Universal Digital Library was proudly hosted by the institute under the aegis of various Departments of Govt. Of India during the period 31st October to 2nd November 2008 at the Jhlawa Campus of the IIIT-Allahabad. Renowned Scientist Prof. Raj Reddy and Hon. Director IIIT-A - Dr. M D Tiwari inaugurated the conference. Hon. Shri T Ramasamy, Secretary, DST, Govt. of India has been the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Guest Lectures
- Prof.H.P.Garg IREDA Chair Emeritus Professor, IIT Delhi delivered a lecture on Energy outlook: key trends on 14-09-08.
- Mr. Shakeel Ahmad , alumni of MBA-IT course delivered a lecture on IT and Risk Consultancy in IT companies on 07-09-08
- Mr. Avinash Mehrotra delivered a lecture on Securities Market Indicators: indexes yield curve, Composition.
- Mr. Abhinav Johri,a IIIT-A alumni presently working in Ernst & Young delivered a lecture on Information Security, Compliance and Consultancy on 06-11-08.It was a interactive session giving direction to the students on the existing trends in the industry.
- Siddarth Parekh from Microsoft delivered a lecture on the topic “Latest trends in Web Development using MS Visual Studio.”
