I step in the pavilion
That charms with orchids
And smells sweet jasmine
All eyes turn on me
Every step that I take
Brings me closer to you
The red veil seems so heavy
That I could hardly
Lift my eyes to see you
My hands dyed in red henna
Holding that garland for you
My bangles rolling up and down
As I approach near you
The embellishment covers me up
But the blush reddens my cheeks more
You stood in front of the Holy fire
You and me in stillness
Looking in each other’s eyes
The nuptial ceremony begins
The priest enchants strange verses
Ceremonies follow one after the other
And then comes the moment when
The priest announces us a couple
A smile glittering your face
And one on mine seeing yours
My father’s head held high
Seeing both of us together
My mother shedding tears of happiness
You promise to keep me happy forever
My siblings happy and sad
Promising to see me soon
You assuring and re-assuring them
I become yours forever
I enter wifehood
How perfect and cute is it all
The most auspicious day
Most precious of our Life
The day much awaited for
The dream I wish to be fulfilled
The dream of future
The dream of US….
