VOLTE FACE SOLUTION

Against

Why do we need foreign people planning for us? India has no dearth of talented economist and we are capable enough to plan about our future. We should not forget that the East India Company entered India as a trader and ended ruling us…. What if history repeats itself ????.. A person from a distant land would never understand the intensity of the problems being faced by us. The consultancy firms if invited will never give up their profit motive… so how can we expect them to work for social welfare. Our government which is running into huge fiscal deficits, will it be able to pay for the services of these consultants? This is a big question…. Giving them a place in the Planning Commission would further enhance the intervention of foreign countries in our political domain also. So instead of having a continuous fear of encroachment on our sovereignty it would be better that we remain self dependent and PLAN FOR OURSELVES ……

For

When it comes to planning why do we have to be biased regarding the foreign nationals in the panel. When we can adopt foreign ideology we can also have them in the planning commission. And further they will in no way be the decision makers….they would be appointed as CONSULTANTS, the ultimate decision making would be of our own people. If these people are placed in the planning panel they may be in a position to make a better analysis of the prevailing conditions in the country and suggest a better solution. When we are utilizing resources from the foreign countries in the private sector and increasing profitability of operations then why can't we use it for the welfare of the country? As far as the problem of foreign dominance is concerned our leaders have to be powerful enough to retain the ultimate power in their hands. Foreign interference in the planning commission would in no way jeopardize the political independence of India because the planning commission is not the supreme law making body in the country. Last but not the least what we need to care and debate is about how effectively these plans are implemented…..if we loose on this point then it would not make a difference whether we have foreign nationals planning for us or not…
