Indian Economy 2007

rocketing market, budding entrepreneurs, erudite technocrats and
an always promising government about the Golden Era, is it a
dream or a reality? A conundrum that is perceived by all in
different measures.
The Reserve Bank of India’s
annual Credit policy review Boasts the growth rate at 8.5% ,
while Inflation has been flashing its move at 5%. In contrast to
all these, tall claims development proved to be damp squib with
agriculture sector trailing behind. Organised agri retail plans
of the big blue chip companies is going to be the last nail in
the coffin of the farmers. The backbone of India is under
virulent pain and the farmer’s suicide has become page two news
with hegemonic bosses offering consolences and remedies. The
lower middle class is facing the ire of inflation whilst our
politicos are busy shaking there legs fulfilling there wanton
desires. Political nepotism and mud slinging have become the
favourite shuggle of our hegemony.
Is the government giving
people hope or making them live faustian dreams? The answer lies
in our own introspection. In the rage of the modern times we are
losing our morales and human values. The golden figures of GDP
and growth show us a mirage of developmental boom, but what an
irony that our motherland still reels under of gloom of threat
perpetuated by the natures fury unleashed in floods and famines
and our own home grown foe of Global warming has been giving us
illusive warnings. It seems in the lure for lucre we are going
so fast that one day we are going to lose ourselves to tall
concrete giants looming large at our futures.
It is high time that our
politicians should strike a balance between political will and
their duty towards the people of their country. Our hopes lie in
the confluence of Global partners cutting across diversities and
individual gains giving wings of fire to the dreams and
ambitions of the common Indian.
