The unfettered realm of dreams beckons a world of visionary realities, achievements of unparalleled nature, amelioration of faculties to levels unheard of –is this ambience an ephemeral figment of our true selves or does it radically and tangibly affect in some way our actions our inspirations ,our future?
I’d go for the superlative. Not only do our dreams serve as the first building brick defining the strata of our life, they presage the success of our endeavors ,the framework of our lives .They clairvoyantly proclaim our optimism and a life that abounds in adventures and shy of any prolixity.
Fatalism never did anybody any harm ,A complaisant attitude does best to provide you a little self confidence-a smugness which might very well prove to be a death knell for your pride, your achievements you inquisitiveness and the will to innovate .Fatalism or a belief in the same never enhances your will power ,never feeds your curiosity ,what it does is to teach you to capitulate to adversities an anathema to the very existence of intelligent beings .Will it rescue you when you are beleaguered by difficulties and beset with troubles? The answer is a big No.
‘Dream Big ,Do Big’ may be lost in a horde of similar inspirational clichés, but does it not stand true ?The rhetoric might well explain itself .Any endeavors-be it as trifle as completion of a routine chore or the behemoth task of improving one’s life , starts with a dream .The seed once sown will necessarily provide the growing tree with its life-blood –the motivation ,the foresight ,the strength and above all a tangible sense of existence.
“Don’t think you are, know you are” the enigmatic quote form the movie The Matrix would basically sum up the dogmatic attitude of the detractors of the above theory. They’d very easily quote the above and preach how futile it is to dream ,how worthless it is to think ,how unmanly it is to dream before acting and shunning your impulses .Unfortunately what they fail to grasp that the seminal act and in fact the power to believe one can assume the authority to accomplish a task has its genesis in the very ability to dream. A dream at least commiserates with the act of doing things ,if not be over and above the same. A mind trained to shun dreams would do better than to hinder you –it’ll mar your thirst for improvement, it endues you empathy for the most spirited of your efforts, it kills you enthusiasm the most ebullient person is bound to become nonchalantly banal in the absence of the driving force of dreams.
The most momentous inventions, the most exemplary success stories , the most optimistically intriguing lifestyle changes could be void for the lack of a fertile mind. Highly motivated rebellions, coups for independence would remain a falsehood if the mind did not hit the will to do so,. In all the aforementioned cases as in inventions –dream to break new paths in an otherwise hackneyed world was imperative and in success ventures the will to succeed was indispensable.
Materialization of dreams, if followed whole heartedly, can be explained on a more intuitive basis. Scientifically proven, a belief that lingers in our mind soon becomes a second nature; thereby facilitating further cementing of actions to realize the dream. Numerous ramifications of these escapades stare in our faces, only cementing the importance and effects of drams in our lives. Mahatma Gandhi ,Nelson Mandela, Che Guevera , Mother Teresa ,Roger Federer are just few stars in the infinite galaxy of die-hards whose zest, passion and dreams for their respective fields paved their way to the acme of their fields.
In fact, it’ll be fully justified to say the most banal and dogmatic person would eventually indulge in dreams-knowingly or unknowingly is not the point of concern ,the fact remains that dreaming for him would soon change from a facetious whim to a necessity, more so because it is he who would soon realize the importance of dreams ,contrasting the results with those without.
Taking a cue from the aforementioned facts/principles , it is only fair to say that the power of dreams in our lives cannot be negated leave alone the inappropriate and out of place discussion on calling them futile indulgences. In fact it’d b nothing more than resistance to coin the effect of dreams as ‘tacit indulgences’ when we can easily see their results in our everyday lives.
Coin these the confessions of a dreamy mind or not ,the fact remains that the dreams are the stuff life’s made of .Quite metaphorical ,quite symbolic and yet quite close to the truth.
