Republic Day (Marathon)

The 58th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at IIIT-A. Honorable Director Dr. M.D. Tiwari hosted the Indian Flag and gave an encouraging speech.

The enthusiasm of all remained intact by the MARATHON, which was organized by the sports club. It started from and ended at the rock garden after covering 3 laps of the defined path.

 

HINDI COMPETITION

As an effort to promote Hindi, 18th to 20th Dec 2007 were devoted to Hindi essay writing, debates and Hindi typing.

 

Lecture on Rich Internet Application Development through CURL\

Mr. Kamal Bhatt from www.CURL.com, Boston, USA, delivered a lecture on 22nd Jan,08 in the Jhalwa Campus.

 

Seminar on Research Prospects in GIST and Microwave Imaging Systems (22nd Nov, 07)

In collaboration with the sensors and systems lab, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea, Prof. Y.H. Kim and his team of four research scholars conducted a seminar and visited the labs of M.Tech students in which they were presented with the projects undertaken by the students.

 

Successful Testing of AMAL

AI and Robotics Lab of IIIT achieved new heights by successful preliminary testing of Adaptive Modular Active Leg (AMAL).

 

Institute Reopens

The IIIT campus was again crowded with students after the winter vacations. Results were announced after the end semester exams held in December 2007. Everyone was looking fresh after coming from home.

 

Club Bearers

Responsibilities took new shoulders when new club-bearers for new session Jan-Dec, 2008, were appointed. Everyone was invited to give his/her name and the most promising among them were selected. The presidents appointed for the various clubs are as follows:

IIIT-Allahabad brings laurels at inter IIIT Sports fest

The 36 member team squad bagged the badminton and football championships in the first inter-IIIT sports fest—“Twaran” held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee III & Management, Gwalior.

The squad was led by Mr. Madhvendra Misra and coached by Mr. Balwant Singh. It also became runner-ups in the table tennis category.
