India is said to be the fastest growing major economy in next few decades. China has already shown signs of slowdown. With average age to be 29 by 2020, India is on cusp of huge demographic dividend. Here, I remember a definition of population as resource which says population if skilled is a great boom and if unskilled is a burden on nation.

For good education the government has taken a life cycle approach which is right based also. Right from a lady conceives, she comes under the net of “Anganwada”. She is provided with few medical care and money also. After birth the child goes through various schemes to be developed into a resource.

But the actual situation is grim. The level of education provided in institution is not even worth mentioning. We have already achieved enrolment for all but schooling for all and finally learning for all needs to be achieved. To bring schooling for all we need to have adequate teachers at all levels, with each student having access to all those things which are required by a student. It can be done by paying more to teachers, better education, loan facilities even at a primary secondary level.

For next level, we need to work on education system. Memory based education needs to be changed to experimental, case study based. The student should be taught as per his/her capacity not as per his grade. Once schooling for all is reached we may think of achieving greater, higher and prosperous years.
