When some ‘krantikari’ youth of JNU, a public institution considered to be the fort of left-wing politics, tested the limits of the freedom of expression by raising anti-India slogans demanding ‘azadi’ of Kashmir, Bengal & Kerela, they were dealt with Iron Hands by police as expected. But appalling was the fact that some Indians started trending #IAmAntiNational on Twitter, in their support. Some disgraceful News Channels started making hero out of them to raise their Prime Time TRPs.

Without analyzing and evaluating both sides of the story, some people believed that arresting those guys was curbing their freedom of expression, as propounded by the Main Stream Media. These people started diluting the definition of Nationalism, in the name of so called ‘Free thinking’ & ‘Open mindedness’.

But what some students of our generation fail to comprehend that freedom of all sorts comes with responsibilities. Nationalism is too solemn for them to play with. Nationalism, my friends is what helps you sleep peacefully at night. Nationalism is what inspired the likes of Bhagat Singh to walk willingly to the gallows in the past so that we can live with pride & dignity in the present. Nationalism is what soldiers give their life for without any hesitation.

Jai Hind!
